The arrival of a new Rega turntable is always treated as an event in the audio world, and in the case of the Planar 6 (P6) the excitement around its performance and design is rarely justified. With many features of Rega's flagship RP10 - including the NEO Power Supply Unit, which offers electronic speed change, advanced anti-vibration control under the turntable and user-adjustable electronic speed adjustment.

Planar 6 specializes in playing vinyl with exorbitant accuracy, fine details, attention-grabbing dynamics and Rega's famous realism.
Designed around a crystal with high stability, NEO PSU's DSP generator distributes the precise signal from the crystal to the exact frequency needed to run the platter at the right speed. It also produces near-perfect sinusoidal waveforms to drive the motor, eventually providing a 24V AC balanced signal with an amazing minimal distortion. And that is just the basis for the budding sound of the Planar 6.

This handmade analog instrument is the first Rega turntable, which is constructed with an ultra-lightweight Tan-Cast 8 polyurethane foam core.
Created for the aerospace industry, the material is then bonded between a high-pressure laminate known for its thin but rigid structure. A one-piece aluminum subplatter, NEO power supply that is manually adapted to a new 24v engine and custom-made precision drive that is completely complete with an improved white die.

Rega's exquisite, hand-crafted RB330 precision tonearm with dual brace technology further contributes to displaying information from the LP grooves.
The Planar 6 is also equipped with a transparent, floating-float glass plate, a brass bearing with ultra low friction, aluminum feet and a dust cover.
