Stirling Broadcast SB88
Introducing the new Stirling Broadcast SB-88 Domestic Monitor Loudspeaker.
Stirling Broadcast is proud to present another outstanding loudspeaker design by Derek Hughes. This new loudspeaker is a two-way design, being similar to the Stirling Broadcast LS3/6 but with a slightly smaller cabinet and without the 'super-tweeter'. The LF and HF units are the same custom units as used in the Stirling Broadcast LS3/6.
The loudspeaker has an IEC268 power handling of 90 watts contnuous and a frequency response of 48Hz - 18kHz +/-3dB, with a crossover point of 3kHz. The sensitivity is 87db for 1 watt at 1 metre, and the maximum output is 107dB.
The loudspeaker utilises a 22cm LF drive unit SB-4432 and a 27mm HF unit SB-4434, and the nominal impedance is 8ohms. The connections are by bi-wired screw terminals accepting both 4mm plugs and bare wires up to 4mm cross sectional area.
The cabinet is 27cm wide, 30cm deep and 50cm high and of a thin wall damped construction with internal standing wave damping, finished in pair matched wood veneer with a matt lacquer finish. The weight is 14.4kg.
The new speaker ideally requires 480mm high stands and Stirling Broadcast can supply matching stands from Something Solid. Interested customers should contact Stirling Broadcast or Something Solid for further details.
